Over the past few months, LaVar Ball has had more people hating on him, especially on social media, than fans believing in him. Although it’s understandable why he’s received such, there’s also a player who thinks he is funny and likes him for being himself.

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert recently revealed how he perceives the outspoken father of Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Lonzo Ball. He acknowledged how he’s been successful in getting things go his way, like bringing attention to his sons and family, via Jody Genessy of The Deseret News.

“I like LaVar. I think he’s funny,” Gobert said. “He got people’s attention. I think that’s what he wanted. Everybody fell in his trap.”

The French international then gave Ball the ultimate praise, as he said he thinks he is a good father, and that his sons have been doing well with his help, via Genessy.

“I think he looks like a pretty good dad to me. I think his kids are doing pretty good.”

It's rare that someone speaks highly of Ball, as he has made a number of controversial and even absurd comments in the past. However, there are also some who consider him a marketing genius, as he has made his family a much talked about topic, and always got what he wants in the end.

Gobert's comments go to show that he gives credit when it is due, and respects Ball despite a lot of people thinking of him otherwise. It's not expected that others will also be vocal in their appreciation for the outspoken CEO of Big Baller Brand, but knowing that someone finds his ways as funny, it could encourage him not to change his ways.
