After nine seasons together with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors and won his first NBA championship. As for Russell Westbrook, he averaged a triple-double en route to his first Most Valuable Player award.

With Durant looking to win back-to-back championships, Westbrook has a new All-Star forward to play with in Paul George. According to Durant on The Bill Simmons Podcast, he believes the Indiana Pacers ‘gave' George away to his former team:

So that was shocking because Indiana just gave him away. And I ain’t think OKC would even think about giving up anything to trade for him. I didn’t think they would do it, but that was a ballsy move.

After the Pacers were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, George reportedly informed them he would not re-sign in 2018 free agency. With his sights set on playing for the hometown Los Angeles Lakers, the Pacers ultimately traded him for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Although George has an opportunity to play with another superstar, he has remained noncommittal about playing in Oklahoma City past the 2017-18 NBA season. With the Lakers looking to clear enough cap space for George and another superstar, it will be interesting to see if he eventually finds his way home.
