Brandon Ingram isn't sweating the potential wave of mutilation awaiting his Los Angeles Lakers in the upcoming free agency period. The purple-and-gold are expected to make a run at some of the league's premiere players, including hometown talent Paul George and the always noncommittal LeBron James.
If the Lakers can sign either of the two players, it would immediately endanger Ingram's future with the team, as they both play the small forward position.
A switch of spots wouldn't be possible with Ingram's lanky frame at 6-foot-9 and 190 pounds — needing to become a much better shooter to be a shooting guard and a much bulkier wing to become a stretch-four.
Yet, the second-year Duke product would rather focus on the now than what's to come.

Ingram is fresh off dropping a career-high 32 points in a loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, showcasing the array of tools in his bag through a closely-contested overtime affair.
“We’re just trying to build with what we have right now,” said Ingram. “We know we have a young core that’s really talented, with good attitudes, good character, and that work hard every single day. I think talking with (Lakers president of basketball operations) Magic (Johnson) and (general manager) Rob (Pelinka) and (head coach) Luke (Walton), they’re up for the process, the process of what we’re building with all these young guys. We know that something bigger and better is going to come out of this.”
The 20-year-old is posting career-highs of 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in the young season — making him one of the most-promising talents the Lakers possess at the moment.
