With the Los Angeles Lakers (10-15) set to take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, promising rookie point guard Lonzo Ball admits that it's a dream of his to finally play at such a legendary arena like Madison Square Garden.

In a tweet posted on Monday afternoon by reporter Bill Oram of the Orange County Register, Lonzo opened up about getting to play the Knicks under the New York spotlight.

Lonzo Ball said “every kid dreams of playing” at Madison Square Garden, “just because of all of the history.” In case you need a reminder that the rookie is only 20, Ball added that the history “goes all the way back to Michael Jordan.”

When asked about his father LaVar Ball's Big Baller Brand pop up shop with fans in New York City over the weekend, Lonzo definitely got a kick out of it.

“Everybody was calling my dad a legend,” Lonzo said, per Oram. “That was probably the funniest. Just yelling out the brand, saying, ‘LaVar’s my hero.'”

On Sunday, ESPN posted a video to their YouTube account that captured some of the action from the Big Baller Brand pop up shop, which can be viewed below.

Although Lonzo has had a really tough time with shooting from the field to start his NBA career, he is still putting up some very solid numbers. In 25 starts for the Lakers, Lonzo is currently averaging 8.6 points as well as team highs in both assists per game (7.1) and rebounds per game (6.8) in roughly 32.9 minutes of action per contest.

Lonzo and the Lakers' young core will look for their third straight victory on Tuesday night against the Knicks (13-13) at Madison Square Garden. The contest, which is scheduled to tip off shortly after 5 p.m. PT, will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
