It must feel good for Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball that people are scrutinizing his numbers for better reasons. The past couple of games, Ball has taken a lot of heat for posting ugly shooting lines, but on Sunday, Ball had a triple-double silence his naysayers by putting up 11 points, hauling down 16 rebounds, and dishing out 11 assists in a 127-109 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Triple-doubles are always special, but Lonzo Ball’s stat line on Sunday had some historical context to it because he tied Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James' feat as the youngest ever to record his second career triple-double. Both players had theirs at 20-years-and-23 days old.

Aside from becoming an owner of multi-triple-double games, the Lakers court general also had the most rebounds by a rookie guard in 17 years, tying O.J. Mayo’s mark in 2009 with 16 boards.
The Lakers will hit the court again on Tuesday when they welcome the Chicago Bulls at Staples Center. Coming off such a great game, Ball has every reason to feel confident that he could replicate the same performance he had on Sunday.
