Many LA Clippers fans are anxious to see Kawhi Leonard in a Clippers jersey, even if it was in a preseason game.

However, hearts were crushed when the team announced that their star wing player won't be able to play, after all. The Clippers decided to rest Leonard ahead of their game against the Denver Nuggets.

Paul George will also be out on a “rehabilitation assignment,” as well as Rodney McGruder.

This was as good of a 180-degree turn from a previous statement from Doc Rivers. He said earlier in the week that there's a possibility for Kawhi to make an appearance against the Nuggets. The 57-year-old coach also pointed out that Leonard may be able to play one or two preseason games before the season formally begins.

However, fans would have to make do with another Clippers game that won't have neither Leonard nor  George in it. There's still no timeline for when the two star acquisitions will be able to play, and fans would have to exercise some patience.

There's nothing but good things to look forward to for Clippers Nation. They have two of the best two-way players on their team, and one of them is a bonafide champion for two different franchises.

In fact, Leonard is so good that Kevin Durant couldn't help but rain praise on him, saying that he can't pull off all of his moves against a defender of Kawhi's caliber. He also punted that the title will most likely end up with him or LeBron James.

There are 82 regular-season games to be played, so Clippers fans don't have to worry about not seeing their big star play just yet.
