New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball thinks Kawhi Leonard choosing the LA Clippers over the Los Angeles Lakers is a good thing for the NBA.
In a radio appearance on Real 92.3 LA last week, Lonzo says that Kawhi brought “balance” in the league when he decided to partner with Paul George on the Clippers instead of forming a new superteam with LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the Purple and Gold franchise.

There’s a lot of great teams and now it’s like it’s up for grabs now,” Lonzo said, per The Sports Daily. “I mean that’s just where the league was going. It got to be a point where if you didn’t team up, you had no chance of beating the Warriors. I mean, LeBron did it – which was great – in Cleveland, but he still had Kyrie and K. Love.”
To recall, the Lakers were reportedly “frontrunners” to land Leonard this offseason, only for the two-time Finals MVP to do a power move. Leonard recruited George to join him on the “other” LA team and form a superstar duo that will compete with LeBron and AD.
As a result of the move, there's no longer a legitimate ‘Big 3' in the league. The Western Conference remains tough, but as Ball said, it's now wide-open with the likes of the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets also posing threats.
