Despite rumors that the L.A. Clippers might relocate to Seattle, team owner Steve Ballmer is adamant that the team will stay in Los Angeles. Ballmer dispelled any rumors by pledging to move the team to Inglewood. Ballmer told Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints:

“A lot of people know I don’t live in Los Angeles,” said Ballmer. “I have a wife who is firmly planted in the Pacific Northwest. I’ll also tell you something else. I love L.A. I love L.A. I think L.A. is one of the coolest places on the whole planet. I also love my wife, by the way, but I love L.A. and I don’t want there to be any mistake about it: We want to be part of the fabric of this community, our community in this room. Whether it’s refurbishing basketball courts, something I am real proud we are doing across L.A. city, or contributing to the development of a hospital expansion like we are doing at Martin Luther King Hospital down in Watts.”

“We are going to be a part of the fabric of this community,” Ballmer adds. “We are moving to Inglewood, California, come hell or high water. We’re going to build, build a big darn house.”

Clippers fans can breathe a sigh of relief after these comments from Ballmer. The tech maven has strong ties to the Pacific Northwest and it's expected that the NBA will eventually bring a team back to Seattle. Ballmer and the Clippers are moving out of the Staples Center, but they won't be going far.

He wants to have his own building to play in, but he has no intentions of taking this team away from its community and fanbase.
