Now that LeBron James is on the Los Angeles Lakers, executives around the league believe the Clippers have become a more attractive free agent spot for superstar players, according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019, and numerous reports have stated that if he leaves the Raptors, he'd prefer to join the Clippers to avoid living in the shadow of James.

Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Jimmy Butler, who has requested a trade, reportedly listed the Clippers as one of the teams he wants to be traded to. Reports also stated Butler doesn't want to play for the Lakers for the same reason as Leonard.

And yet one rival executive calls the Clippers “the most attractive free-agent situation of all of them, because none of the available free agents want to be LeBron's caddy. And they can become the greatest player in the history of a franchise in an unbelievable market with the wealthiest owner in the league. Why would that not thrill you?”

Ever since Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, a new narrative has started to emerge: If you're a superstar player, it's going to be hard to play your game and get your shine while LeBron James is your teammate. You'll always be the second-best player on the team, and for many superstars, that won't fly. A lot of these guys want to be the alpha dog.

The Clippers will potentially have money to sign two max players next summer. They are believed to be eyeing Leonard and Butler.
