New York Knicks veteran forward Marcus Morris is heading to the west coast.
Morris, 30, was traded on Thursday at the NBA's deadline to the Los Angeles Clippers, as they seek more perimeter shooting while competing for the Western Conference title.
The former Boston Celtics forward, who signed with the Knicks in the past offseason, thanked the city as he exits for a new home in L.A.
“Thank you New York,” Morris wrote on Twitter on Thursday afternoon. “Nothing but love on this side!”

Morris signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks over the summer of 2019 after reneging on a verbally agreed two-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs. Morris also reportedly turned down a multi-year deal with the Clippers but now finds himself in L.A. nevertheless.
Morris wanted a one-year “prove it” deal in order to become a free agent again in 2020, and it looks like he'll get paid in the summer, with even the Knicks reportedly having interest in signing him long-term, which made their decision to trade the stretch four even harder.
The Clippers gave up veteran Moe Harkless (acquired via the Portland Trail Blazers in that four-team Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade between the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers over the summer) and their first-round pick.
There is a discrepancy in if the Knicks are also receiving a second-round pick from L.A., although reports have come out that New York received the draft rights to 2018 Washington Wizards pick Issuf Sanon, as the deal turned into a three-team one with Wizards point guard Isaiah Thomas going to the Clips.
