After some players and coaches in the league have made it known who they want to win the championship this year, L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer decided to join the conversation, and made it known publicly which team he is rooting for in the NBA Finals.
With his team playing in the Western Conference, it’s easy to predict the he prefers seeing the Golden State Warriors to win their second title in three years. However, his surprising pick is the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he doesn’t want the West team to have more success and raise their confidence further.

Ballmer’s statement definitely says a lot on how serious he is in wanting his team to win soon and beat the Dubs, who swept them in four regular season meetings this year.
This summer, the Clippers will face tough decisions, especially with the possibility of seeing three of their starters testing free agency. The uncertainties may seem like a lot to take for their front office personnel, but one thing that’s certain at this point is they will do their best to have the best roster possible, and compete for a title soon.
