Austin Reaves took some playful shots at Luka Doncic following the Los Angeles Lakers' 130-120 win over the Miami Heat on Sunday night.

Reaves and Doncic had excellent performances as a dynamic duo while LeBron James remains on the sidelines. They combined for 55 points, 21 assists and 15 rebounds with 38 minutes of action each.

Reaves reflected on his chemistry with Doncic after the game, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin. He remarked on how his co-star is getting more comfortable with his surroundings, having moved on from the Dallas Mavericks after a shocking blockbuster trade last season.

“He's an idiot. I don't know what he did yesterday, but he was in a really good mood today, joking around, having a good time. I guess he's a big football fan, because he sat over there and watched the Chiefs-Bills game for a long time. He's a Cowboys fan, I know, but yeah, it's human nature when things like last year happened. Nobody ever thought that that was gonna happen. So I'm sure he was in a state of shock and couldn't believe it and having to move his family. So it was tough. Now I think he's just getting comfortable having a good time, but yeah, he's acts like a kid. He needs to grow up at some point,” Reaves said.

It's clear that Austin Reaves is having fun building his connection with Luka Doncic as co-stars on the Lakers. Their solid win over the Heat was another example of that.

Los Angeles dominated in the first half, taking a 77-63 lead at halftime. Even though Miami cut the deficit down to two going into the fourth quarter, the Lakers made big plays down the stretch to secure the win at home.

Perimeter shooting and steals made the difference in this matchup. The Lakers prevailed in both categories, making 15 3-pointers while creating 14 steals. It wasn't the same for the Heat, only converting nine triples while making seven steals.

Six players scored in double-digits for Los Angeles, including Doncic and Reaves. The former finished with a stat line of 29 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals. He shot 9-of-22 from the field, including 1-of-11 from beyond the arc, and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. Reaves came next with 26 points and 11 assists, Jake LaRavia followed with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes scored 15 points each. Meanwhile Marcus Smart contributed with 11 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals, and a block.

The Lakers will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They face the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 3 at 10 p.m. ET.
