To say that the Los Angeles Lakers are shaky is a huge understatement. It's like saying Enes Kanter Freedom doesn't like LeBron James. They were billed as a heavy contender in the Western Conference, but so far, they have been a middling squad dealing with seemingly incessant uncertainties.
The addition of Russell Westbrook in the offseason raised not a few eyebrows, citing his gung-ho playing style doesn't fit with the Lakers. Well, those concerns have been proven valid, at the very least.
But while many chide Westbrook for his overzealousness, Lakers star Anthony Davis begs to disagree, saying that's exactly what the team needs (via Silver Screen and Roll).
“I think at the beginning of the year, Russ was a little bit passive. He was trying to get guys involved, pass the ball. He’d be at the rim—he had one tonight where he tried to kick it out to Melo (Anthony) where he could have laid the ball up. We tried to tell him to be himself. Don’t try to be anybody else. The more you’re aggressive, the more it’ll open up for everyone else. As of late, the last 7-10 games, he’s been very, very aggressive. And when he does that, it opens the floor for everyone else as far as shooting.”

Davis added Westbrook in “attack mode” will always be good for the Lakers. The All-Star big man revealed he reminds Westbrook of this every night.
“Before every game, I tell him to be himself. That’s why we brought him here, to be Russell Westbrook and not anybody else but that.”
Perhaps Anthony Davis should tell that to Lakers fans as well.
