Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis revealed to the media Wednesday that he plans to return to the lineup on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Davis said he'll suit up as long as he feels good:

Davis hasn't been in the lineup since Feb. 14 against the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers superstar is recovering from calf and Achilles injuries, and he and the franchise were especially cautious so as not to come back too soon and risk further injury.

Davis even admitted he thought he tore his Achilles:

Anthony Davis will likely play about 15 minutes in his return to the starting lineup. The Lakers star will need a few games to regain his conditioning as the team enters the stretch run.

A little over a month after Davis went down, LeBron James also went on the shelf with an ankle injury. The Lakers have been trying to stay afloat without their two superstars, and they've at least done an admirable job of doing it instead of totally falling apart.

Los Angeles dropped to 21-7 on the season the night Davis last played against Denver. The record was 28-14 when James got hurt against the Atlanta Hawks. The Lakers' record is now 35-23, which is good for the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference.

LeBron won't return for a while longer, but it will be nice to see Davis back in the lineup, even though he'll be restricted to start.

Anthony Davis’ stats have once again been impressive this season, as he's boasting averages of 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals while shooting 53.3% from the field.
