Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James murals are popping up all around LA. Unfortunately, they're being destroyed as quickly as they are popping up. It's somewhat inexplicable.

Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN spoke with one of the artists, Gustavo Zermeno, about the murals and their subsequent defacement.

“I am surprised,” Zermeno told ESPN. “This is the most positive move for the Lakers in the past five or six years. It is really a surprise that people are upset about LeBron. I don’t understand it.

“[The message of the mural was to] just show LeBron paying homage to not only past Lakers legends but the whole organization. Him showing up to the Lakers and knowing he has some big shoes to fill.”

LeBron haters are becoming more ridiculous by the day. Zermeno points out that the purpose of this mural was to signify that James had “big shoes to fill.” It's paying homage to many Laker greats, yet some fans have such blind hatred towards James that they can't let this go.

It's unfortunate that a small pocket of Lakers fans has yet to fully embrace James. They will eventually, but it's taking some time for them to warm up.

What's even worse is the fact that these people are damaging the work of incredible artists. Zermeno and others devote an immense amount of time and effort into painting these murals just to have a classless fan destroy it in the middle of the night.

These fans who exhibit pathetic acts should resort to yelling in James' mentions like normal losers. Instead, they up the ante and have to ruin this incredible street art for everyone else.
