Brandon Ingram has been impressive for the Los Angeles Lakers as of late, scoring at least 25 points in four of the team's last five games. This offensive resurgence from Ingram began in the month of February, where he averaged 21.1 points and 5.8 boards on 46 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent from three-point range.
However, it hasn't been an easy year for Ingram. He found it hard to play with teammates LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma, who are the team's top two scorers. His numbers were down in the first few months of this season, and the third-year forward from Duke admitted that his lack of self-confidence led to his early season struggles.
“Oh, I was terrible. I was s—-y. I don’t think I played with a lot of confidence. I just wasn’t making shots.”

Ingram started to play better last month, especially after the trade rumors involving him and his teammates were over. It's safe to say that this is how Ingram responded to the Lakers' attempts to ship him to New Orleans for Anthony Davis. He wants the front office to see that he can be a franchise cornerstone, and that he can match James' and Kuzma's production and efficiency on the floor.
Ingram's offensive surge might be too late for the Lakers, who are four games out of the final spot in the Western Conference playoff race. But if the purple and gold are to make it, he will be one of the major reasons why.
Whatever happens, it's obvious that Ingram is ready to take his game to the next level.
