The Los Angeles Lakers came out as winners in the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery after ending up with the fourth overall pick, but Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports believes that it will not matter in any negotiation for a trade involving Anthony Davis.
Heading into the lottery on Tuesday night, the Lakers had the 11th-best odds, but lady luck smiled on them. The Lakers will get the chance to add another promising prospect to their roster or use the pick in a possible trade for a superstar in the offseason.
It can be remembered that the Lakers aggressively pursued Davis before the trade deadline in February, but the Pelicans opted to keep their disgruntled superstar.

The Lakers are expected to revisit talks with the Pelicans in the offseason armed with a better pick this time. However, Cowherd said that the fourth pick is not too attractive because of the weak pool of prospects. Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and RJ Barrett are expected to be picked before the Lakers get their turn.
Los Angeles can include Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram in a possible trade package. However, Cowherd is quite convinced that the Pelicans will ask for a big haul again. Aside from the Lakers, the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks are also being linked to a possible deal for Davis.
