Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Danny Green received scrutiny after he missed a wide-open three-point shot in the final seconds of Game 5 which would have ended the series for his team.

Despite nursing several injuries, the veteran swingman declines to use those as an excuse for the botched play and reiterated his focus on the team's remaining games, according to SB Nation's Harrison Faigen.

The former Carolina Tar Heel has yet to find his sweet-shooting form all throughout the 2020 NBA Playoffs — especially in the Finals series against the Miami Heat. His precision from beyond the arc could have come in handy as the Lakers attempt to answer back on opposing players in Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson.

His best game of the championship series came in Game 1 where he scored 11 points through 30 minutes of action as the Lakers dominated in a 116-98 victory. He has tallied in single-digit outputs in the next two games until he scored a meager ten-point performance in Game 4 followed by eight points in Game 5.

The Lakers will need their weapons to play at their best especially with star forward Anthony Davis nursing a heel injury sustained in Game 5. The players around LeBron James will have to deliver under the bright lights if they want to give themselves a good chance to beat the re-surging Heat squad.

Amidst the criticism, Green will have another chance to redeem himself and atone for his errors and bad shooting come Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals. The Lakers will attempt to close out the series and finally win their 17th championship in franchise history.
