The Toronto Raptors won their first NBA championship back in June. A month later, the core of their team was dismantled, as Kawhi Leonard decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers and Danny Green opted to join the Los Angeles Lakers.
At Lakers media day on Friday, Green reflected on Leonard's decision to link up with the Clippers:
“I was just as in the dark as you guys,” Green said, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “He told us before he told you guys. He updated me when he could. I think he didn’t know his decision until that moment.”
Green stated earlier this summer that Leonard's decision made his own choice an easy one, which he reiterated on Friday:

“Everybody was waiting on Kawhi. Once he made his decision, it was easy,” Green said of signing with the Lakers, via ClutchPoints.
Green spent one year with the Raptors along with Leonard, as both players arrived in Toronto via trade with the San Antonio Spurs during the summer of 2017.
In 80 games with the Raptors, Green averaged 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds over 27.7 minutes per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor, 45.5 percent from 3-point range and 84.1 percent from the free-throw line in what was a bounce-back season for the veteran.
Danny Green was one of numerous significant pickups for the Lakers this offseason, with the biggest obviously being Anthony Davis, whom Los Angeles acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.
