Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN recently reported that the Memphis Grizzlies have no intentions to buy out veteran forward Andre Iguodala, per Kurt Helin of NBC Sports. They reportedly made it clear that they want something in return – particularly a first round draft pick – for the former Finals MVP.

This means that teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, L.A. Clippers, and the Houston Rockets will not get him for free — like they desired. If they want to acquire the services of the three-time NBA champion, they would have to get him via trade.

Iguodala has yet to suit up this season after he and the Grizzlies made a mutual agreement that he would stay away from the team in the meantime. He did not participate in training camp and isn't even traveling with the up-and-coming squad.

The Golden State Warriors traded Iguodala in the off-season to make room for D'Angelo Russell, whom they got in a sign-and-trade with the Brooklyn Nets.

Iggy is set to make $17.2 million this season, and he wants to get all of that money.

Insiders around the Association believe that Iguodala will eventually find himself donning the Lakers Purple and Gold if he does indeed get bought out by Memphis. However, as we can see, Memphis isn't going to make it easy for the Lakers to get the valuable veteran.

Even at 35-years old, Iguodala still has a lot left in his tank. He has proven to be a top-notch defender and a capable playmaker, despite being on the wrong side of 30.

His suitors have until the February 6th trade deadline to construct their trade package for one of the most sought after names in the market.
