Dudley, turning 34 years old on July 10th, is a 12-year NBA veteran who competed for the upstart Nets during the 2018-19 season. Prior to his Nets tenure, Dudley played for the Phoenix Suns for seven-odd years—with stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Washington Wizards bisecting his tenure in the desert.
The 6-foot-7 stretch four is known to be a valuable veteran on the bench and in the locker room for NBA franchises. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, broker of the Dudley-to-LA report, called the Boston College product a “real impact” on the young Nets roster this past season.

The Lakers are attempting to surround All-NBA-caliber players James and Davis with capable supporting-role talent to maximize the Hollywood stars' respective huge talents. Los Angeles acquired Davis in a blockbuster deal prior to the NBA draft in which the Lakers sent Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple first-round picks to the New Orleans Pelicans in order to pry “The Brow” away from the Bayou.
Los Angeles has also signed shooter Troy Daniels to a deal and are widely believed to be frontrunners to land two-time Finals MVP and max-contract candidate Kawhi Leonard. Leonard has yet to make a decision and multiple free agents—and teams—are waiting on the All-Star's decision before signing deals of their own.
Dudley has averaged 7.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in 847 total appearances, shooting 46.5% from the field, 39.2% from three, and 73.2% from the free throw line in his career.
