The Los Angeles Lakers have been an utter disappointment this season. While they still have a fighting chance to make the play-in tournament, there is no question this team will want to put 2021-22 in the rearview as quickly as possible.
Injuries are certainly playing their part, with summer addition Kendrick Nunn being one. The former Miami Heat guard hasn't played all season because of various health issues, leaving his Lakers' future in question. However, it appears the organization is willing to keep him around.
Via Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report:
How vice president Rob Pelinka and Los Angeles reshape the roster may be limited to a potential Russell Westbrook trade, or the Lakers revisiting their outgoing package of Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn that was frequently discussed with rival front offices ahead of February’s trade deadline. The Lakers nearly sent Horton-Tucker to Toronto in a three-team deal with the New York Knicks. And Nunn is expected to pick up his $5.25 million player option for next season, sources said, after not appearing in a game this year.

The Lakers almost considered trading Nunn at the February deadline, but he ultimately stayed put. With him picking up his player option, it seems likely LA gives him another chance. However, as Fischer noted, the team could also use him in a potential package to get Russell Westbrook out of town in the offseason.
Nunn turned into quite a solid player during his time in South Beach, averaging 15 points and three assists across two seasons. Los Angeles was excited about his arrival, but he could never get healthy. The 26-year-old could've been a nice role player for LeBron James and Co.
It will be interesting to see what happens next with Kendrick Nunn.
