Retired NBA player and current TNT analyst Kendrick Perkins was once again in awe of his former teammate LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar set another franchise record on Monday, becoming the first player in franchise history with at least 33 points and 14 assists in fewer than 36 minutes played in the team’s 114-104 win versus the San Antonio Spurs.

Big Perk took to Twitter to congratulate The King in yet another career milestone.

Since hanging up his sneakers last year, the soft-spoken enforcer has embraced an analyst role for ESPN and has voiced his unfiltered opinion about today’s game and current players.

He once revealed that James told him that he will “reclaim his throne in due time”, after the Lakers’ struggles last season.

The 34-year-old James, meanwhile, is now on his 17th NBA season and appears to not have lost a single step. He actually looks even better than before, notching 25.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 11.0 assists (league-best), and 1.2 steals for the Purple and Gold.

The Lakers have won eight straight games and is still at the top of the standings with a 15-2 slate.

With most of his batchmates from the 2003 draft either retired or slowing down, James is once again at the forefront of the Most Valuable Player discussion this year.

Guys like defending MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the surprising Luka Doncic are not far behind, but LeBron appears to be the clear-cut frontrunner especially after the Lakers’ hot start. With a lot more games to be played for the Lakers in the regular season, expect James to break even more franchise records in the future.
