Kevin Durant and Draymond Green couldn't help but react after JJ Redick and CJ McCollum obliterated Stephen A. Smith for his “foul” take on Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook.
On Tuesday while discussing Darvin Ham's Lakers press conference, Smith shifted the focus to the fact that Westbrook attended the event. The veteran sports commentator expressed his dismay that Russ was there, which didn't sit well with Redick and McCollum.
Redick calmly asked Smith what his issue with Westbrook is for him to mention that “random” take, while McCollum highlighted that it's a “wild” take since there is nothing wrong for a player to support his new Lakers coach and the organization:
“Him supporting his team, his organization, his coach, a fellow African-American man who got hired by the Los Angeles Lakers. This is what you said!” McCollum responded, per Uproxx. “You said that him going to the press conference, you’re disappointed in that? Run the tape. We got the tape. That’s what you said. … Even if you didn’t mean it the way I said it, you said that he shouldn’t have been at that press conference, that’s foul.”
As videos of the moment went viral, Durant and Green took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Draymond Green reiterated his campaign for the “new media” as he tries to foster integrity in the coverage of players and games. Still, he couldn't help but laugh at how Redick and McCollum silenced Smith:
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 THE NEW MEDIA!!!!

As for Kevin Durant, he mocked Stephen A. and shared how the analyst “can’t beat up on max Kellerman the boxing guy and the new baseball guy ‘mad dog.'” He then said that he's “locked in” now. For what it's worth, Durant's reaction comes after he exchanged barbs with Smith as their Twitter beef continues to heat up:
Steve can’t beat up on max Kellerman the boxing guy and the new baseball guy “mad dog” or whatever his name is? I’m locked in now https://t.co/06sVFRJv1s

Smith, for his part, saw Durant's tweet and refused to engage any further. Instead, he simply thanked the Brooklyn Nets star for watching:
Haaaa! Appreciate you watching bro @KDTrey5. Thanks for the love https://t.co/dUxmzfbQVc

It is not the first time Smith has criticized Westbrook, the Lakers and a lot of other teams for that matter, and it's unlikely he'll stop despite this latest viral moment.
