Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made headlines after stating his understandable desire to play with New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis. Now, forward Kyle Kuzma doubles down on the possibility of Davis coming to Los Angeles.

James' comments were heard throughout the league, creating a bit of a media whirlwind. Kuzma, however, took a rather different and sneaky approach so that he won't be charged with tampering, per Bill Oram of The Athletic.

“Who wouldn’t want to play with him? I’m sure I would want to play with him too. He’s a top five player in the league. So Michael Jordan would probably want to play with him too.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Kuzma's comments. Davis is widely considered the best big man in the NBA and for good reason. Not only is he a gifted scorer on offense but his ability as a rim protector is second to none. He has solidified his status among the NBA's elite, becoming a five-time All-Star, three-time All-NBA First Team and three-time All-NBA Defensive Team by the age of 25.

Just looking at Davis' achievements with the Pelicans, there is plenty of credence to Kuzma's comments.

Regardless, James' response on Davis has drawn panic from team owners. The Lakers have been the subject of the league's tampering rules over the past year due to their status as a hotbed for superstar free agents.

A bigger headline would have been if he said he did not want to play with Davis. James gave an obvious answer to a rhetorical question by the media, and now owners have reportedly asked the league to penalize Los Angeles once again.
