Rising star Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers made a prayer against the Houston Rockets, as he converted on a heave near mid-court.

Check out the clip below posted, by Bleacher Report, where Kuzma drained a circus shot — his only 3-pointer in the game. It seems he's been practicing this type of shot in the gym. And on Thursday, he got his moment:

Kuzma finished the game with an impressive stat line: 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting, 7-of-7 from the free throw line, five assists, three rebounds, two steals, and one block. It was another good showing by Kuzma, who's turning into the Lakers' best player, next to LeBron James. However, his efforts weren't enough to get the victory as they lost 126-111 to the Rockets.

James led the purple and gold with 29 points, along with five rebounds and four assists. Lance Stephenson also chipped in with 17 points from the bench, including three makes from downtown.

The Lakers shot at a horrendous 55.6 percent from the free throw line. Despite this, they managed to keep it close throughout the game. It was only up until the final minutes of the fourth quarter that the Rockets broke away, thanks to an offensive outburst by last season's MVP, James Harden.

He finished with a triple-double: 50 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. He was 18-of-19 from the line and 4-of-12 from downtown. He made back-to-back 3-pointers with under four minutes remaining in the game, which proved to be the dagger as not only did he stretch the league, but it also killed the purple and gold's momentum.
