If recent reports are to be believed, it's not only LeBron James who should be excited about the prospect of Kyrie Irving joining the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason.

As Irving continues to be linked with a trade to the Lakers amid the Brooklyn Nets' drama, NBA insider Brad Turner provided an update on the guard's current conditioning level. Apparently Irving was in LA on Wednesday and even worked out with some NBA guys, during which he looked like the best player.

“As of yesterday, he was [still in LA]. He was playing with some [NBA] guys out in the Valley. He was clearly the best guy on the court… He was scoring in ways that some guys just couldn't imagine,” Turner told Marc Stein, via ClutchPoints Twitter.

Now if that doesn't get Lakers fans intrigued about a LeBron James-Kyrie Irving reunion, we don't know what will.

While Irving's off-court antics and behavior often bring unnecessary drama to the teams he joins, there is no doubt that he is one of the best scoring guards in the NBA today. That talent is sitll very much there despite him missing a huge chunk of the season in 2021-22.

According to the latest updates, Irving is adamant on getting traded to the Lakers, with Brian Windhorst of ESPN even saying that he “absolutely” wants to be part of the Purple and Gold. Unfortunately, there isn't much traction on the trade that could send him to Hollywood from New York.

For now, LA fans just have to wait and see how things will develop. If the market for Irving continues to be dry, perhaps the Lakers can get him cheaper than what the Nets are asking.
