After recently getting waived by the L.A. Clippers, Jamil Wilson will not be leaving the city soon as he is slated to sign a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The 27-year-old Marquette product went undrafted back in 2014. He then spent two seasons in the G-League before taking his talents overseas to play in Puerto Rico and Italy. His impressive play resulted in Wilson getting signed by the Clippers to a two-way contract earlier this season where he appeared in a total of 15 games, starting in 10 of them. He averaged 7.0 points, on 46.9 percent shooting from the field, to go along with 2.1 rebounds in 18.3 minutes.

With his ability to play the shooting guard and small forward positions, his addition to the Lakers will give them more versatility and allow Luke Walton to field in more combinations on the floor. Wilson may receive some decent run depending on matchups as he fits both the small ball and big man lineups.

The Lakers are currently struggling to string a few wins together and have only snapped out of their nine-game losing streak on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks which could be the reason why the team is opting to make some changes. It remains to be seen what exact role Wilson will have once he suits up for the Purple and Gold on Thursday, but it can be expected that he will only come off the bench and play behind the likes of Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, among others.
