LeBron James just keeps on adding on to his pile of records in his storied NBA career. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar just recently passed Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki for sixth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

James spoke highly of the Mavs legend after their 110-106 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, wherein James scored a game-high 35 points on 13-21 shooting.

“Guys that I've played against, played with, watched before I even got to the league, admired, was in awe of,” James said per Dave McMenamin of ESPN when asked about O'Neal and Nowitzki after the game. “Dirk's always been one of my favorite players, and I think Shaq is the most dominant player to ever play this game. So for me to be in the same conversation with those guys in anything that we're talking about as far as basketball, it's a tribute.

James has had many battles with these two legends, especially Dirk whom he faced in the NBA Finals in 2011, back when he was with the Miami Heat. Nowitzki won his only NBA championship at the expense of James, and it's easy to see why LeBron respects the sweet-shooting German so much. Dirk got the better of James in that series as Dallas managed to pull-off the upset against the Miami Big Three of James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

Their showdown against the Spurs was a special game for the four-time NBA MVP as he not only moved up the all-time scoring list, but also managed to one-up two other Lakers legends on their spots of other NBA records. James now places sixth on the all-time field goals list after he passed Lakers dominant big man Shaquille O'Neal. He also moved up to fourth place on the NBA's all-time 30 point games list, surpassing Kobe Bryant in the process.

However, not everything went well for The King on the night as the Lakers choked away another close one against the Spurs.
