LeBron James has been on the receiving end of some criticism after his recent comments on Brittney Griner went viral. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar appeared to take a shot at the United States government by saying that if he were in Griner's position, LeBron wouldn't even be sure if he wanted to come back to America.
One personality who clearly doesn't agree with LeBron's take on this whole situation is former MLB star Curt Schilling, who now makes a living as a commentator on conservative media outlet BlazeTV. The three-time World Series champ did not appear to like James' take on the issue, and Schilling had some pretty harsh words for Griner as well.
For starters, here's LeBron's full quote from a recent episode of The Shop:
“Now, how can she feel like America has her back?” James asked. “I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’”
LeBron James went out of his way to clarify his comments after some folks saw it as a dig toward the government. The Lakers star claims that he was merely trying to express how Griner is “probably feeling emotionally” throughout this ordeal.

For his part, however, Schilling made it abundantly clear that in his mind, it's only right that Griner suffers the consequences of her actions:
“I know this may seem like a stretch. But something like 300 million people understand ‘OBEY THE F—–G LAW', why is that such a challenge? And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country's laws?” Schilling said in his tweet.
I know this may seem like a stretch. But something like 300 million people understand "OBEY THE FUCKING LAW", why is that such a challenge? And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country's laws? https://t.co/3SPJ5KJyA6

It is worth noting that most folks — including the US government — believe that Griner is being wrongfully detained in Russia on false drug charges. Schiller, on the other hand, isn't exactly in the same boat.
