Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is a true student of the game, so it's not a surprise to see The King praise one of the best to ever do it in Isiah Thomas.

Thomas is one of the top point guards in NBA history and arguably the best player in Detroit Pistons franchise history. The Chicago native won two championships with the Motor City franchise and was named the 1990 Finals MVP.

Isiah spent his entire career with the Pistons. He finished his career as a 12-time All-Star and was inducted into the Hall of Fame back in 2000.

In 979 regular-season games with the Pistons, Thomas averaged 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 9.3 assists. He shot 45.2 percent from the field, 29.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line. He ranks ninth all-time in assists, racking up 9,061 dimes during his legendary NBA career.

LeBron passed Thomas on the all-time assists lists this season. The Lakers star has 9,298 assists so far in his career.

Before the 2019-20 NBA season was suspended due to COVID-19, James and the Lakers were atop the Western Conference standings with a record of 49-14. LeBron was averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists for the Purple and Gold while shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

LA fans are hoping the 2019-20 season resumes in the summer because this year’s Lakers squad has a really good chance of winning the title with LeBron James and fellow superstar Anthony Davis leading the charge.
