A pro-Donald Trump group was recently exposed for misquoting Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, as it released a baseless smear campaign against mail-in voting.
James himself has reacted to how a group called “Protect My Vote” has wrongfully used his image to promote their campaign, calling them out for their “BS:”
First of all, Everyone needs to know the kind of BS happening about this election and get organized. This is exactly why we coming together for @morethanavote misinformation=suppression!https://t.co/4I5qGux4I7

The Lakers star is clearly unhappy with how his name is being used by this group for something that LeBron himself is actually fighting against. It's shocking as to what lengths people go to these days just to stuff their own beliefs into other people's throats. Then again, in these times, nothing seems to be too surprising anymore.
What's even more alarming is how this group has reportedly posted paid ads on Facebook in the hundreds, which has now been viewed by hundreds of thousands of Americans over the span of a few weeks. How many of these folks might have been influenced by seeing the Lakers star himself in the campaign, and is there any way to provide them the proper information?
For his part, James has been adamant about using the NBA restart as an avenue to promote the issues he is fighting for, one of which being voter education. He has delivered on his promise thus far, taking by and all opportunities to talk about the socio-political issues that have continued to grip the nation. Clearly, LeBron James has no intention of just shutting up and dribbling, despite how some folks have demanded this from him.
