LeBron James is now on top of the NBA scoring leaderboard. During the Los Angeles Lakers' matchup against the Golden State Warriors, James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points scored combined in the regular season and playoffs.

Abdul-Jabbar is still the NBA's all-time leading scorer in the regular season. Still, for the Lakers star to become the all-time scorer in this facet is amazing in its own right.

LeBron James being the all-time leader in this category is a testament to his excellence over the years. Scoring this many points means that he has played a very long time AND routinely make deep postseason runs. The Lakers star will eventually catch up to Abdul-Jabbar on the regular-season leaderboard, but he'll make do with this for now.

This achievement by LeBron is one of the few bright spots in what has been a disastrous Lakers season. A team expected to contend for the Larry O'Brien Trophy has instead crashed and burned in various ways. With a playoff spot not even guaranteed, the team will need to rely on James to carry the load for them.
