Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James says he has to have a candle in his hotel room during road trips.
James says he loves the smell of candles and that it makes him feel comfortable away from home.
Article Continues Below“I have to light a candle in my room on every road trip while I'm in my room,” James told Sam Schube of GQ. “It has a lot to do with the energy of the universe. I'm very high on that—I actually get that from my wife.
“But I also just love the smell of candles. You know, hotel rooms can have a stagnant smell. I think a candle gives it a fresher smell. I can bring some home with me, it makes me very comfortable. So the energy, the essence, behind a candle, and also the smell quality of just keeping me as comfortable away as I am when I'm home.”
NBA players are on the road a lot. They play 41 times on the road during the 82-game reason. The hotels the players stay in are really nice, but it's not as comfortable as sleeping in your own bed with your family.
So, James needs his candles to be more adequate with his hotel surroundings. The Lakers star is right when he says the smell of hotel rooms aren't the best all the time.
