With the new NFL season officially underway, New England Patriots famed quarterback Tom Brady has taken his shot at trying to recruit Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

After seeing LeBron's recent Instagram post which features the 33-year-old flying in for a jam, Brady was more than impressed. He straight out asked James to join him and teammate Rob Gronkowski in the Patriots.

Brady even suggested that James should play tight end. Surely, it would be a thing of beauty to see James sprinting down the field and catching one of Brady's pinpoint passes at the end zone.

Brady is definitely on to something here. If LeBron were ever to do a Michael Jordan by switching sports — something he claimed to have no interest in on a number of occasions — then tight end would actually be an excellent position for the 6-foot-8, 250-pound mammoth.

As it is known bto many, LeBron actually played football in high school. In his piece about James' affiliation with the sport of American football, Ralph Warner of NFL.com details LeBron's impressive resume as a high school footballer.

“At St. Vincent-St. Mary, James played wide receiver and made first team all-state as a sophomore. As a junior, Bron racked up 57 receptions for 1,160 yards and 16 touchdowns. That season, James and his teammates went 10-4 making it the state semifinal.”

Thankfully for us basketball fans, James picked the right sport. Had he taken another route, then surely, the world would have missed out on one of the greatest ever to set foot on the hardcourt.
