Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been spending a ton of time in the film room this summer. After the massive success of his blockbuster film ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy',  the four-time MVP has now put his attention to the latest Social Status x Nike short film called ‘FREE LUNCH‘ as James got hyped after watching the six-and-a-half-minute slice of life film.

James had nothing but praises for the James Whitner-produced film. The Lakers star tipped his hat to the short film and its creators via Twitter after a job well done.

The film, directed by the Turner Brothers, is a story that depicts the life of the main character, aptly named James, and his two brothers in their quest to grab their free lunch for the day. According to LeBron, the short film perfectly captured his childhood days of being brought up by a single mother living in a marginalized community.

LeBron had a rough childhood growing up in Akron, Ohio. He turned to basketball to make sure he survived and the rest, as they all say, is history.

At the end of the short film, a neighborhood pillar named ‘OG Hustle' hands James and the rest of his crew with some brand new Social Status x Nike Dunk Mid sneakers which will be released later in September. The two colorways, named ‘Chocolate Milk' and ‘Strawberry Shake', were designed through the lens and inspiration of similar stories such as in the short film.

Not a bad way to build hype for some kicks, huh?
