Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis was named to the All-NBA First Team for the fourth time and one person wasted no time in congratulating him: LeBron James.

LBJ proudly shared on Instagram a photo of his running mate, while putting “Generational talent at its finest!” in the caption.

The two All-Stars have truly formed a special bond since teaming up with the Los Angeles Lakers. They haven't been shy in praising each other publicly. Davis looks up to James as a mentor, while the four-time MVP has been calling AD as the “Young King.” Davis frequented James’ home in the summer, even joining LBJ’s famous “Taco Tuesdays.” They also share the same agent in Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

It’s no secret that it was James who personally recruited Davis to join the Purple and Gold. He’s been a huge fan of Davis since they became teammates with Team USA in the 2012 London Olympics. His pursuit of the young big man got so publicized, the NBA issued a tampering warning.

When Davis finally signed with the Lakers, James was overjoyed to have another superstar partner. He even tried to gift AD his No. 23 for his jersey. But it didn’t fall through because of endorsement issues. Still, it reflected the kind of kinship they have.

Davis averaged team-highs of 26.1 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 1.5 SPG, and 2.3 BPG in 62 games in his maiden season with the Lakers. He joined James, Luka Doncic, James Harden, and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the All-NBA First Team. He has previously earned selections in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
