LeBron James ring in the New Year with a loud bang. In the process, the Los Angeles Lakers star also joined Michael Jordan in an exclusive old-man club of all-time elites.

The Lakers forward banked 43 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and zero turnover to lead the Purple and Gold to a dominant 139-106 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. According to Stat Muse, James is the only 35-year-old or older player since Jordan to record a 40-point game without a single turnover.

LeBron recently turned 37, but there is is no doubt he has stayed efficient even at the twilight of his career.

That is not the only record that LeBron James set, though. The Lakers leader played a little over 29 minutes in the huge victory, becoming the only player in league history to score 40-plus points, grab 10 or more rebounds and make at least five triples in fewer than 30 minutes. Yes, not even the great Michael Jordan did it at any point in his career.

He is also only the fourth-oldest player to record a 40-10 game, trailing Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone on the list.

The Lakers are trying hard to turn around their fortunes after a rough start to the campaign, and obviously, LeBron is going all-out to make sure that it would happen. They have a long way to go despite improving to 18-19 on the season, but with the way King James is playing, it's better not to count out the team just yet.
