Plenty of NBA stars expressed frustrations that Team USA wasn't able to take home the gold at the FIBA World Cup. They also have since signed up to play for Team USA in the 2020 Summer Olympics. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is one of the players who expressed his frustrations with the way the team played. He believes that Team USA could perform at a higher level and compete with the best basketball players in the world.

He shared with Tom Azarly his thoughts on the matter.

Team USA remains the top-ranked team in the world despite exiting the 2019 iteration of the World Cup in the semi-final round. The team is no slouch, made up of talented NBA players. However, they weren't able to put on a dominant display that many were expecting out of them.

Retired Lakers legend Kobe Bryant said that this result is simply the signs of the times, that the world is finally playing to a level of basketball that American ballers will find challenging.

“It's not a matter of the rest of the world catching up to the USA. It's a matter of the rest of the world has been caught up for quite some time,” Bryant said, per FIBA. “It's come to the point where we, as the USA, are going to win some, we're going to lose some. And that's just how it goes.”

Players such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook have expressed their interest in playing for the 2020 Olympics. It wouldn't be weird if James does decide to add his name to the list.
