Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James took yet another L during his season debut, falling to 0-4 upon joining a new team after a 128-119 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. As usual, the King preached patience as his main friend during this early stretch.
“Control what you can control,” LeBron James said, according to Erik Garcia Gundersen of LeBronWire. ““You have to put in the time and the commitment and trust the process. The best teacher in life is experience. A lot of these guys don’t have experience. We have to understand that. Rajon (Rondo) understands that.”
The Lakers seemed well on their way to their first win of the season, but fell apart in the fourth, outscored by seven points as the seasoned Blazers rode their two-point third quarter lead without letting go of it.
LeBron James put up an usual 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in his debut in purple and gold, but costly turnovers and woeful 3-point shooting resulted in a loss against a team that didn't forgive much from the foul line, connecting in 27 of their 29 attempts.

Players like Rajon Rondo and JaVale McGee have seemed to adjust pretty well, both having efficient nights, but it'll take some more games for others to get used to playing efficient supporting roles.
