LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers sent out a tweet after the first half of the WNBA Conference Semifinals game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Dallas Wings.

As expected, James' tweet was met by replies from fans. Some were surprised that he's watching some WNBA playoff action. Quite a number had a hunch that someone ordered James to tweet about the WNBA for the league to gain some attention.

Some, however, were not too amazed as they expect James to watch any type of basketball — be it women, teens, or international ball.

The Mercury came away with the victory, 101-83. Forward DeWanna Bonner led all scorers with 29 markers, adding 10 rebounds to her stat sheet. WNBA great Diana Taurasi chipped in 26 points and 12 assists.

For the Wings, Skylar Diggins-Smith contributed 23 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. Center Liz Cambage added 22 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. Despite the all-around effort, the Wings just weren't able to climb back in the fourth quarter after being outscored 26-15 in the third.

The WNBA implements a single-elimination playoff format. The Mercury will face the Connecticut Sun in the second round on August 23, Thursday, 8:30 p.m. ET.
