Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James admits he rushed back from his left groin injury which he suffered on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.

James suffered a tear in his groin, the worst injury of his career.

The Lakers star tells Allie Clifton of Spectrum SportsNet if he could do his rehab all over again, he would have been more patient with his recovery.

“I think I would have just tried to be a little more patient,” James said. “I think along the way, I still rushed my body. My first major injury I've ever had in my life, so I felt I could rush, rush, rush to get back. As soon as I felt okay, not saying I was at 100, as soon I felt okay I needed to put a uniform on.”

The Lakers went 6-11 without James while he was recovering. They felt out of the playoff picture and were never able to recover.

James is missing the postseason this year for the first time since 2005, his second season in the NBA. The Lakers haven't made the playoffs since 2013. One of the season LeBron rushed back from the injury is because he wanted to get Los Angeles into the postseason.

Unfortunately for LeBron, even after he came back, the Lakers were just never able to get into a groove.
