LeBron James was unequivocal in his desire to play out the rest of the season, despite the Los Angeles Lakers' recent playoff elimination at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets.
While many teams are starting to potentially shut down their stars with only minor injuries, James' load management won't keep him from seeing the floor through the rest of this 2018-19 campaign:
“I got to play my game no matter what our circumstances [are], no matter how many minutes I’m out on the floor,” said James. “Look up to the basketball gods, I’ve always respected the basketball gods. If I’m on the floor, I got to try and play as hard as I can or do something to affect the game and not cheat the game. If I'm on the floor, I got to try to make things happen.”

Sunday's win over the Sacramento Kings saw King James put up another triple-double effort (29 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) in 35 minutes of playing time, despite recently sitting out in two of the last five games.
The Lakers will be careful with him as he finishes out the season, but he's likely to play a beefy amount of minutes in each of his appearances, hoping to do the game some justice.
Otherwise, it has been a rather disappointing season for the Lakers, who looked en route to making the postseason, but ultimately faltered and fell deep out of the race.
At least fans who bought tickets for these season-ending games won't have to worry about James playing less or being absent from these games as a means of precaution by the organization. At least for now.
