Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James says second-year swingman Kyle Kuzma is more than just a scorer.

After the Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at Staples Center, LeBron James said Kyle Kuzma “is not allowing anybody to put a cap on him.”

“I think he's not allowing anybody just to put a cap on him and just say he's a scorer,” James said, via Tania Ganguli of the LA Times. “I think he wants to be more than that and he's been continuing to get better and better, not only offensively, but defensively as well. He's just playing all around solid basketball.”

In 23 games this season, Kyle Kuzma is averaging 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The 23-year-old is shooting 47.3 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.8 percent from the free-throw line. More importantly, as LeBron says, Kuzma's defense has been much better this season compared to last year. He's talking more on defense and getting his hands in the passing lanes.

The Lakers are a better offensive team when Kuzma is on the court. Per Basketball-Reference, the Lakers have an offensive rating of 115.5 when Kuzma is playing. That rating drops to 109.5 when the rising star is on the bench.
