Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James brushed aside questions about his stamina following L.A.'s 15-point loss at the hands of the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

James made it clear he has plenty of gas in the tank, even on the road:

“I don’t get tired. I don’t feel tired,” Lakers superstar LeBron James said, via Jovan Buha of The Athletic. “I get my sleep. I get my rest. I have a lot of energy. I don’t get tired.”

LeBron put up numbers against the Pistons, scoring 22 points to go with 10 assists and seven rebounds. But the Lakers struggled to shoot the ball and really missed Anthony Davis on the other end of the floor.

Los Angeles is still in the midst of a seven-game road trip, and James said the absence of practice time is starting to impact the team's performance on the floor:

“We are definitely all adjusting to playing minutes with different lineups,” Lakers veteran LeBron James said, via Harrison Faigen of SB Nation. “I think we're all learning on the fly with the lack of practice time… A lot of our games are like practices for us too.”

Indeed, the Lakers are still in the early stages of incorporating newcomers like Dennis Schroder, Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell. Not to mention, bench guys like Talen Horton-Tucker getting more minutes.

James feels the some of the recent struggles (the Lakers have lost two straight) are the result of lineup variability, rather than fatigue.

It would be easy to chock underwhelming performances up to James being “tired,” considering how often the 36-year-old has played deep into the season in his career.

But LeBron James is also hailed as the peak picture of fitness. He insisted once again he has energy in reserve.
