The Los Angeles Lakers found themselves in a tight encounter until the dying seconds of their rivalry game against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. After the game, Lakers star LeBron James then spoke on the wild sequence that transpired in crunch time which eventually went in their favor and gave them their 15th win of the season, via Spectrum SportsNet.

For James and his team, they just wanted to get back on defense as fast as they could, especially after committing a crucial turnover with the game on the line. Indeed, their championship pedigree showed as they executed on defense and prevented their rivals from escaping with the victory.

Holding onto a precarious lead of 96-95 with 15 seconds left on the clock, the Lakers turned to Anthony Davis who attempted to operate on the low block. However, Kemba Walker managed to strip the ball off Davis as he was about to turn around for a fadeaway shot.

Walker pushed the ball down the court and gave an advanced pass to his teammate in Jaylen Brown who was already ahead of him. Alex Caruso then positioned his body to block Brown's path to the rim and hinder a fast break attempt from the Celtics.

Brown passed on an opportunity to take a shot and saw Semi Ojeleye beyond the arc who then passed it back to Walker on the opposite wing. The four-time All-Star took matters into his own hands and put up a shot with 2.7 seconds left. Dennis Schroder's 1-on-1 defense against Walker eventually bothered him in his attempt and caused him to miss the shot.

Big man Daniel Theis wanted to follow it with a putback attempt with 0.5 seconds remaining on the clock but his shot also didn't find the bottom of the net. The Purple and Gold successfully held onto a 96-95 victory to improve to a 15-6 record for the third spot in the Western Conference.

Davis led the Lakers with 27 points and 14 rebounds while James added 21 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. After getting back on the win column to end a two-game losing skid, the Lakers will play the last tilt of their seven-game road trip when they visit the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 1.
