Long before he joined the Los Angeles Lakers, once upon a time LeBron James was arguably the greatest high school basketball prospect of all time.
Not only that, but he's also had a chance to watch his sons Bronny and Brice up close an personal as they forge their own paths on the HS hoops circuit.
Those cold, hard facts give the Lakers star some serious credibility in terms voicing out his opinion on how the game at the amateur level can be improved.
LeBron James shared exactly that in response to a tweet from Cleveland-based high school coach Cam Joyce of Saint Ignatius High School. Joyce spoke out on his experience in a California HS tournament, where they use a 35 second shot clock, something that hasn't been in integrated in more than 80% of US states, including LeBron's home state of Ohio.

@OHSAASports our team @SIHSBasketball1 just got back from a tournament in California we played 4 games with a 35 second shot clock. They were all high level. Teams ran there sets, game pace was great & you never felt out of the game in the 4th quarter. It’s time to get them Ohio!

“I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!! I played HS ball in Ohio and now my boys play ball in Cali,” claimed the Lakers star. “The pace of the game is simply better and actually enhances the kids minds! This CHANGE has to happen now in Ohio ASAP!”

If there's one athlete that could potentially sway an entire state to change their sporting regulations, it's probably going to be LeBron James with the state of Ohio. At present just eight states use some form of shot clock for high school hoops. If the Lakers superstar could have his way, he'd likely up that number quite a bit – or at the very least add his home state to the list.
