At 33 years of age, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James does not appear to show any signs of slowing down. However, a redditor that goes by the username u/Johnaldinho recently brought forth a very interesting (and meticulous) statistic that seems to prove that James is actually literally slowing down.
The discussion does get a bit complicated, so here's an attempt to keep it as straightforward as possible. One of the statistics the redditor unearthed points to the fact that James actually plays at one of the slowest paces in the league.
Johnaldinho narrowed down the playing field by applying several relevant filters. As he explains, it came down to 205 total players. Out of that lot, James ranked at 199th, meaning there were only six other players that generated a slower average in-game speed lasts season. Namely, these are Dirk Nowitzki, Marreese Speights, Carmelo Anthony, Darrell Arthur, and Blake Griffin â all of which are notorious for playing at a noticeably slow pace.

He may be far from being one of the quickest, but he is certainly no slowpoke. Playing at a slow, controlled pace does not necessarily mean that LeBron's style of play is sluggish. Not in the least bit.
One thing that this statistic does not incorporate is James' explosiveness, which, with already 15 grueling seasons under his belt, is simply mystifying.
