Lonzo Ball has been dealing with nagging injury issues all offseason long and has missed quite a bit of time due to those injuries. That is the case once again as the Los Angeles Lakers prepare for their preseason matchup on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward, Ball is questionable to play on Saturday against the Clippers.

Los Angeles needs to get their second-year point guard back on the court as soon as possible. Add in the fact that Rajon Rondo has been forced to miss some time as well and the Lakers had to resort to starting Brandon Ingram at point guard in their last preseason game.

Getting Ingram some experience at the point is not a bad thing, but the Lakers need to get their full roster healthy and on the court together to prepare for the regular season.

Ball was drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Lakers and had a bit of a disappointing first season. He averaged 10.2 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game. Those numbers are not bad at all for a rookie point guard, but his father LaVar's hype of his son caused expectations to be way higher than what Lonzo could provide.

Heading into year two, Ball could not be more excited to play with LeBron James. He will not be asked to be a huge scoring presence and will instead by able to focus on running the point and playing off the ball as well.

Ideally, Ball will be able to get back on the court on Saturday night and begin figuring out his new role with “The King” now the center of focus in Los Angeles.
