Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook broke up with his agent of 14 years last week, Thad Foucher. It was certainly a surprising turn of events because they were together for such a long time, with Foucher even hinting that his ex-client could be traded once again and even proceeded to defend Russ in the case of staying with the organization.

This is an unprecedented level of tea-spilling from an agent in real-time. It clearly speaks to a troubling dynamic behind the scenes, as the partnership evidently soured to the point that Foucher felt the need to get ahead of the report and publicly defend himself. Russell Westbrook has found his name found in countless trade rumors in recent weeks as the Kyrie Irving talks continue. But, the Lakers haven't matched the Brooklyn Nets' asking price at this point. There is no doubt Westbrook struggled to fit in with LA in his first season and it's pretty unlikely he can all of a sudden be the perfect running mate for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

But, we'll have to wait and see if a trade materializes or not.
